Purchase, renewal, transfer and management
Domain Registration — Specific Terms
Last updated: 1 June 2026Terms governing the purchase, renewal, transfer, management and administration of domain names through Bacan.com.
Important information to protect your domain
These terms govern the purchase, renewal, transfer, management and administration of domain names through Bacan.com.
By requesting the registration, transfer, renewal or management of a domain through Bacan.com, you accept these Domain Terms, together with the Terms of Use, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Privacy Policy and any other condition applicable to the contracted service.
In the event of any conflict between these Domain Terms and other general service terms, these Domain Terms shall prevail only in matters relating to domain names.
Important note about Bacan.com's role
Bacan.com is not a direct accredited domain registrar and does not operate as the Registry of any domain extension.
Bacan.com provides the service as a reseller, intermediary or domain management provider, processing domain operations through accredited registrars, wholesale providers, registration platforms or entities authorized by the corresponding Registry.
For this reason, the Client accepts that certain operations related to a domain may depend on third parties outside Bacan.com, including, among others:
Bacan.com will act with reasonable diligence in processing the Client's requests, but it does not directly control the systems, deadlines, decisions, validations, locks, prices, recoveries, suspensions, deletions or internal procedures of Registries, accredited registrars or wholesale providers.
Where these terms refer to the Registrar, this means the accredited registrar, wholesale provider or authorized entity through which Bacan.com processes the relevant operation.
- The Registry of the corresponding TLD.
- The accredited registrar used to process the operation.
- Wholesale domain providers.
- Registration platforms.
- Validation entities.
- ICANN, where applicable.
- Competent authorities.
- Specific policies of each domain extension.
1. Definitions and roles
For the purposes of these terms:
The Client accepts that, in addition to these terms, each domain shall be subject to the policies of the corresponding Registry, the Registrar used, the applicable wholesale provider and, where applicable, the policies of ICANN or other competent authorities.
- Client / Holder / Registrant: the individual or legal entity in whose name the domain is registered.
- Bacan.com: the provider that facilitates the purchase, renewal, transfer, administration or technical management of the domain. Bacan.com acts as a reseller, intermediary or management provider before accredited registrars, wholesale providers or authorized platforms.
- Registrar: an entity accredited by ICANN or authorized by the corresponding Registry to process domain operations. Bacan.com is not necessarily the direct accredited registrar of the domain.
- Registry: the entity that operates a specific domain extension, for example .com, .net, .org, .es or others.
- TLD: the domain extension, such as .com, .net, .org, .es, .ec, among others.
- Administrative, technical or billing contact: contacts associated with the domain when required by the TLD or the Registrar.
- AuthCode / EPP Code / TAC: the authorization code required to transfer many domains between registrars.
- EPP statuses: codes that indicate the status of a domain, such as ok, clientTransferProhibited, redemptionPeriod, pendingDelete, among others.
- RDAP / WHOIS: public or restricted domain registration data lookup systems, according to current policies and applicable regulations.
2. Scope of the service
Bacan.com processes these operations before accredited registrars, wholesale providers, authorized platforms or equivalent entities. Bacan.com cannot guarantee the allocation of a domain until the operation has been confirmed by the corresponding Registry or Registrar.
Domains are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and according to real availability at the Registry. A domain availability search does not constitute a reservation or a guarantee of registration.
Some domain names may be subject to special conditions, including premium domains, reserved domains, domains restricted by country, industry or activity, eligibility requirements, documentary validations, local TLD policies, or restrictions based on trademarks, geographic names or protected terms.
Bacan.com may reject, suspend or cancel operations that violate policies of the Registry, Registrar, wholesale provider, ICANN, competent authorities, applicable law or Bacan.com's Acceptable Use Policy.
- Initial domain registration.
- Domain renewal.
- Domain transfer from or to another provider.
- Modification of technical domain data.
- Nameserver management.
- DNS management, when included in the contracted service.
- Publication or management of DNSSEC records, when available.
- Administrative assistance related to the domain.
3. Registrant data, verification and privacy
The Client must provide accurate, complete, up-to-date and verifiable data for the domain holder and associated contacts. The Client is responsible for keeping their contact details updated in the Client Area and, where applicable, in the data associated with the domain.
Failure to verify, the use of false data or lack of response to mandatory requests may result in the suspension, lock, cancellation or loss of the domain by the Registrar, wholesale provider or Registry.
The Client authorizes Bacan.com to transmit to registrars, wholesale providers, registries, technical providers, competent authorities and supervisory entities the data necessary to process, maintain or verify the domain.
Domain data may be visible in whole or in part through RDAP, WHOIS or equivalent systems, depending on the TLD, Registrar, applicable regulations and current policies.
Where available, Bacan.com may offer privacy or proxy services for domains. These services are not available for all TLDs and may be subject to restrictions, suspension or disclosure due to legal, administrative, technical or compliance requirements.
- Email confirmation.
- Identity document.
- Proof of address.
- Tax information.
- Company documentation.
- Proof of eligibility for a specific TLD.
- Authorization from the holder or legal representative.
4. Domain registration
The initial registration of a domain may be contracted for periods of 1 to 10 years, depending on the TLD and the rules of the corresponding Registry.
The domain shall be considered registered only when the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider confirms the operation. Payment of an order does not, by itself, guarantee that the domain has been registered.
Between the initial availability search, order generation and effective processing of the operation, the domain may become unavailable, change price, be classified as premium or become subject to additional restrictions.
If an operation cannot be completed for reasons beyond Bacan.com's control, the Client will be informed and, where appropriate, an alternative, credit, refund or domain change may be offered depending on the specific situation and the real status of the operation.
5. Renewal, expiration and loss of the domain
A domain may be renewed manually or, when the service allows it, through automatic renewal if it is enabled and payment is successfully processed. The Client is responsible for renewing domains sufficiently in advance. It is recommended to renew at least 7 days before the expiration date.
Bacan.com may send expiration or renewal notices by email, through the Client Area or by other available means. For some TLDs, the Registrar may also be required to send notices under the applicable policies.
The Client must keep the email address associated with their account active and accessible and, preferably, use an email address that does not depend on the domain being renewed. Failure to receive notices does not exempt the Client from the responsibility to monitor the expiration dates of their domains.
After making a renewal payment, the Client must verify that the renewal has been correctly applied and that the domain remains active. This check may be carried out through the Client Area, by RDAP or WHOIS lookup, by reviewing the expiration date and by confirming that the domain resolves correctly. If the Client detects any issue with the renewal, they must report it through a support ticket as soon as possible.
- DNS service interruption.
- Temporary parking or suspension page.
- Deactivation of website and email services.
- Entry into a grace period.
- Entry into redemptionPeriod.
- Entry into pendingDelete.
- Release of the domain so that it may be registered by third parties.
- Auction or allocation to third parties, according to the policies of the provider, Registrar or Registry.
6. Restoration of expired domains
Some domains may be recovered after expiration through normal renewal during a grace period.
After that period has passed, certain TLDs may enter a restoration status or redemptionPeriod. At this stage, recovery may require payment of an additional restoration fee, in addition to the renewal cost.
Restoration fees, timeframes and the possibility of recovery depend exclusively on the Registry, Registrar, wholesale provider and the corresponding TLD.
If a domain enters pendingDelete or an equivalent final deletion phase, it normally can no longer be recovered. Bacan.com does not guarantee the recovery of expired, deleted, auctioned, pendingDelete domains or domains subsequently registered by third parties.
7. Transfers to Bacan.com
To transfer a domain to Bacan.com, the following is normally required: the domain must be active, not expired or in a restricted status, and the policies of the TLD, Registry, Registrar and wholesale provider must be complied with.
For many TLDs, a transfer adds one additional year to the domain's validity, except where the Registry provides otherwise.
- The domain must be unlocked for transfer.
- The Client must have the AuthCode, EPP Code or TAC.
- The holder's or authorized contact's email address must be able to receive and approve the transfer.
7. Transfers away from Bacan.com
Bacan.com will process, where appropriate, requests to unlock the domain and obtain the AuthCode in accordance with the policies of the accredited Registrar, wholesale provider and corresponding Registry.
The issuance of the AuthCode, unlocking and final approval of the transfer may depend on third parties.
Bacan.com will not unduly block the outgoing transfer of a domain, provided that the Client is the lawful holder or has proper authorization, there are no unpaid amounts related to the domain, no active dispute, no legal, administrative or technical order preventing the operation, the domain is not subject to applicable temporary locks, and the policies of the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider allow the transfer.
Bacan.com shall not be responsible for delays, rejections or locks imposed by the Registry, the originating Registrar, the receiving Registrar, the wholesale provider, ICANN, a competent authority or the policies of the TLD.
- Some domains may be subject to a 60-day transfer lock after initial registration.
- Some domains may be subject to a 60-day transfer lock after a previous transfer.
- Some domains may be subject to a lock following a substantial change of holder or contact data.
- Some domains may be subject to additional lock situations established by the TLD, Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider policies.
8. Changes of holder and contacts
Any material change to the holder or contacts of a domain may require additional verification.
The Client guarantees that they have sufficient authorization to request changes of ownership, administrative, technical or billing data.
The Client assumes responsibility for the accuracy of the data submitted and for the consequences arising from incorrect, unauthorized or incomplete changes.
Where the applicable policy allows it, the Client authorizes Bacan.com to act as a designated agent or authorized intermediary to electronically approve certain changes of holder or contacts necessary to complete the requested operation.
9. DNS, nameservers and DNSSEC
The Client may use Bacan.com nameservers, their own nameservers or third-party nameservers, depending on the contracted service.
DNS changes may take time to propagate. Although many changes are reflected within a few hours, propagation may take up to 48 hours or more, depending on caches, TTLs, Internet providers and technical configuration.
Bacan.com shall not be responsible for interruptions caused by:
When DNSSEC is available, Bacan.com may assist with the publication or management of DS records if the Client provides the correct information and if the TLD, Registrar, wholesale provider and contracted service allow it. The generation, custody and correct management of DNSSEC keys is the responsibility of the Client or their DNS provider, unless Bacan.com expressly states otherwise.
- Incorrect nameservers.
- Misconfigured DNS records.
- Accidental deletion of DNS records.
- Changes made by the Client or authorized third parties.
- Failures in external DNS providers.
- Incorrect DNSSEC configuration.
- Use of external services such as CDNs, proxies, external email or third-party platforms.
10. Permitted use of the domain
Use of the domain must comply with applicable law, Registry and Registrar policies, ICANN policies where applicable, Bacan.com's Acceptable Use Policy, and third-party rights, including trademarks, trade names, intellectual property and image rights.
Bacan.com may request, apply or relay suspensions, locks or limitations on domains used for abusive or illegal activities.
These measures may also be applied directly by the Registry, the accredited Registrar, the wholesale provider or a competent authority, even without prior intervention by Bacan.com.
Where possible and reasonable, Bacan.com will attempt to notify the Client. However, in cases of urgency, serious abuse, risk to third parties, request from an authority or instruction from the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider, suspension or locking may be carried out without prior notice.

11. Disputes and third-party rights
The Client declares that the registration and use of the domain does not infringe third-party rights.

12. Prices, payments and refunds
Prices for domain registration, renewal, transfer, restoration and management vary according to the TLD and may change by decision of the Registry, Registrar, wholesale provider, taxes, exchange rate or other applicable costs.
Premium domains may have higher prices not only for registration, but also for renewal or transfer.
Except for an error attributable to Bacan.com or an applicable legal provision, domain operations are non-refundable once processed before the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider. This includes registrations, renewals, transfers, restorations, changes subject to fees and premium domains.
If an operation has not yet been processed, Bacan.com may assess cancellation and refund according to the real status of the order.
In the event of non-payment, bank reversal, payment dispute, chargeback, suspected fraud or unauthorized use of the payment method, Bacan.com may suspend related services, limit domain management or adopt reasonable protective measures, always within the limits allowed by applicable rules and the policies of the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider.
13. Communications and notices
Contractual, administrative and operational communications will be sent to the email address registered in the Client Area and/or to the contacts associated with the domain, where applicable.
Bacan.com may also publish notices in the Client Area, ticketing system, on invoices, through internal notifications or on the website. It is recommended to use an email address outside the primary domain, especially for critical notices about renewal, transfer or verification.
Failure to receive a notice does not eliminate the Client's responsibility to monitor the status and expiration of their domains.
- Keep email address updated.
- Check the spam or junk folder.
- Review the Client Area periodically.
- Check the status of invoices and domains.
- Monitor expiration dates.
14. Cancellation and deletion
The Client may request cancellation of a domain, provided that it is technically possible and permitted by the TLD, Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider.
Cancellation of a domain may result in its deletion, permanent loss, service interruption and future availability to third parties. Voluntary cancellation does not create an automatic right to a refund.

- Breach of these terms.
- Breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Order from a competent authority.
- Instruction from the Registry, Registrar or wholesale provider.

Bacan.com may reject, suspend or cancel services when necessary to comply with legal, regulatory, contractual or provider obligations.
16. Liability and limitation
Bacan.com will act with reasonable diligence in providing the domain management service. However, the Client acknowledges that many operations depend on third parties, including Registries, Registrars, wholesale providers, payment systems, competent authorities and TLD policies.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bacan.com shall not be liable for loss of profits, loss of business, loss of reputation, loss of data, interruption of activity, loss of commercial opportunities or indirect damages arising from the use, expiration, suspension, transfer, inability to recover or loss of a domain.

The above shall not prevent the application of mandatory policies of the Registry, Registrar, wholesale provider, ICANN or other competent entities in domain matters.
18. Changes to these terms
Bacan.com may update these Domain Terms for legal, technical, commercial or operational reasons, or due to changes in the policies of Registries, Registrars, wholesale providers, ICANN or other competent bodies.
