Email with SSL. What security certificate can I use?

At Bacan you can always read your email under the SSL protocol. This way your messages travel securely so no one else can read them.

To use SSL when reading your email, you have two options that won't show warning messages.

  • Use the server's security certificate where your domain is installed. This means that when you configure your email, you'll use the server name as the incoming and outgoing server to send and receive your email. This way all your messages will be encrypted with the server's security certificate.
  • Purchase your own security certificate. For a few dollars you can enjoy a dedicated certificate for your domain, also getting the advantages of being able to use https:// for browsing your website, adding trust for your visitors. With this option, you'll be able to use your domain name as the incoming and outgoing server in your email configuration.

If you want to use the server certificate and don't know what the server name is, open a ticket with our support department and we'll let you know.
