Sometimes you may notice that you cannot connect to your domain through one service, while the others still work.
For example, you may be able to view the website but not log in through FTP, or the opposite.
If that happens, it usually means the server has blocked your IP address for that specific service.
Why would the server block your IP?
In most cases, it is because of repeated login errors. After several failed attempts, the server interprets the behavior as a possible attack and protects the service by temporarily blocking the IP.
What can you do to reactivate the service?
The simplest option is to wait about 10 minutes. The block is usually removed automatically. If it is urgent, contact us and a technician can review a manual IP unblock.
How can you avoid this kind of block?
Do not keep trying to connect if you are not sure the password is correct. Trial and error will eventually trigger a block. If you forgot the password, reset it first.
Can I know why the block happened?
Yes. Send us your blocked IP address and we can explain the reason. You can obtain your public IP using any "what is my IP" service.
Another possible cause is malware on your computer. Viruses or trojans often try to access email, FTP, or other services repeatedly with wrong credentials, so it is also important to check your device for infection.
