This is a term used frequently, and many people don't know what it means.
There is a very detailed description on Wikipedia, but here's one you can easily understand.
A URL is the technical name for the link that lets you access a webpage. For example, Bacan's URL is: www.bacan.com
When you sign up for a hosting service, it also allows you to have your own URL.
URLs can be much more detailed. For example, the URL of this page is: /en/support/account-and-billing/what-is-a-url/
When you type a URL in a web browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome, you access the website at that URL.
There are many types of URLs, but in practice users will generally use URLs to access websites.
If you'd like more information on the subject, we recommend reading the Wikipedia article, where you can learn much more.
