What happens if I don't renew my hosting on time?

Avoid suspension or loss of your website. Find out what happens if you don't renew your hosting on time and how to protect your files and emails.

If you forget to renew your hosting service at Bacan.com, it's important to know what can happen to avoid your website being suspended, losing emails, or incurring additional restoration fees.

🔄 Stages after service expiry

🔸 1. Grace period (0 to 3 days after expiry)

  • The service remains active normally for a short period.

  • You will receive automatic email reminders so you don't miss the date. Reminders start one month in advance.

  • You can renew without surcharges or suspension.

🔸 2. Temporary suspension (between 3 and 9 days after expiry)

  • Your website and email accounts temporarily stop working.

  • Your data (files, databases, and emails) remain stored.

  • You can reactivate the service simply by paying the outstanding invoice.

🔸 3. Service deletion (more than 9 days without renewal)

  • The system may permanently delete your hosting account from the server.

  • This includes:

    • Website files

    • Databases

    • Email accounts

  • From this point, automatic recovery from the panel is no longer possible.

💸 Can a deleted service be recovered?

Yes, but only if a backup is available and it is within the retention period. In that case:

  • Our team can attempt a manual service restoration if the data is still accessible.

  • This restoration has an additional cost, on top of the renewal payment.

  • The amount may vary depending on the account type and the time elapsed since deletion.

🔔 Please note that recovery is not always possible.

🧠 Practical example

Lucy didn't renew her hosting on time. More than 9 days passed and her account was deleted. She requested a restoration, and although a backup was recovered, she had to pay the recovery cost on top of the expired service. She learned to enable automatic renewal.

✅ Tips to avoid problems

  1. Enable automatic renewal from your client area.

  2. Check your service expiry date so you don't let it pass.

  3. Make regular backups, especially if you update your website frequently.

  4. If in doubt, contact the support team before the 30-day mark.

  5. Read carefully all the emails we send you.
