What are automatic backups?

Learn what automatic backups are, how they work, and how they can save your website after errors, attacks, or data loss.

Automatic backups are scheduled backup copies that your hosting service creates on a regular basis, such as daily or weekly, without you needing to do anything manually.

These copies save a complete or partial version of your website, including:

  • Files such as images, documents, and code

  • Databases such as your WordPress database

  • Email accounts

  • Control panel settings

Think of it as a snapshot of your website at a specific moment, ready to be recovered if something goes wrong.

What are automatic backups for?

They are your digital safety net. Imagine something like this happens:

  • You delete files by mistake

  • Your site gets hacked

  • An update fails

  • Someone changes your site without permission

With an automatic backup, you can restore your site exactly as it was before the problem in just a few clicks.

How often are backups created?

At Bacan.com, the frequency depends on the plan you have, but in general we usually offer:

  • Weekly backups

  • Retention of several versions, for example the last 45 days

You can check in your panel, whether cPanel or DirectAdmin, which copies are available and when they were created.

Main advantages of automatic backups

  • Time savings: you do not need to create them manually

  • Peace of mind: there is always a copy available

  • Easy recovery: you can return to an earlier version in minutes

  • Loss prevention: they protect your work and your clients' work

Can they be restored easily?

Yes. Open a ticket and our technicians will help you with the restoration process.

Practical advice

Even if you already have automatic backups, it is still a good idea to download a manual copy from time to time, especially before making major changes to your website.
