If you have a reseller contract at Bacan, you can also configure your own DNS servers. Below we explain how to achieve this step by step.
What will my DNS servers be named?
You will have 3 DNS servers, and they always follow the same naming convention. The prefixes ns1, ns2, and ns3 are prepended to the domain name you want to convert into a DNS server.
For example, consider the domain Bacan.net — its DNS servers would be:
ns1.Bacan.net
ns2.Bacan.net
ns3.Bacan.net
If your domain is called pepegoterayotilio and you want to use it as a DNS server, the DNS names would be:
ns1.pepegoterayotilio
ns2.pepegoterayotilio
ns3.pepegoterayotilio
What will the IP addresses of my DNS servers be?
They will be the same as our DNS server IPs. To find out what they are, we always publish them in our support section under the title What are Bacan's DNS servers?
What steps do I need to take to set up my own DNS servers?
1. Create the child DNS records.
These «child DNS» records are created at your domain registrar, using the information we provided in the sections above.
If your domain is registered with Bacan, open a ticket requesting the creation of the «child DNS» records and our technicians will create them for you.
2. Add the ns1, ns2, and ns3 subdomains to your DNS configuration. To explain this process, the easiest way is to watch the following video:
