You can access your preferred webmail client by loading its URL directly. To get the URL, follow these steps:
- Log into your webmail by going to «yourdomain.com/webmail». Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.
- You will be prompted for your username (your email address) and password.
- Once logged in, load the webmail client of your choice. You can choose from Horde, Squirrelmail, and Roundcube.
- After accessing it, you will see in your browser's address bar the URL that gives you direct access to that client.
The URLs will generally look similar to these:
- For Roundcube: https://yourdomain.com:2095/3rdparty/roundcube/index.php
- For Horde: https://yourdomain.com:2095/horde/login.php
- For Squirrelmail: https://yourdomain.com:2095/3rdparty/squirrelmail/src/login.php
Remember: You must replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.
Once you have the URL, to create quick and easy access to your preferred mail client, we suggest the following:
- Log into your control panel.
- Go to the «Subdomains» section.
- Create the subdomain of your choice. For example: mywebmail.yourdomain.com.
WARNING NOTE: When creating the subdomain, do not use «mail.yourdomain.com» as this subdomain already exists, and creating it again could cause problems.
- Once the subdomain is created, add a redirect pointing to the URL you obtained in the previous step.
With this, you will have your own direct access to your preferred webmail client.
Squirrelmail login
As of the last update of this article (05/03/2021), Squirrelmail is no longer part of the standard cPanel installation, so it is not possible to log into Squirrelmail if your hosting uses cPanel. If you want to use Squirrelmail, you will need to perform your own installation within your hosting, which is perfectly possible. However, it is not recommended since the project has not been updated since 2013.
