It's frustrating to register a domain and see that nothing loads when you type it in the browser. Don't worry — this is a very common issue: the domain exists, but your hosting doesn't yet know it should «receive» it.
For your website to be visible, we first need to give it a space within your account. Here's how to do it depending on the control panel you use at Bacan.
If you use DirectAdmin
This panel is very agile for managing multiple sites. Follow these steps:
-
Log into your DirectAdmin panel.
-
Find the "Account Manager" section and click on Domain Setup.
-
You will see a green button or a link that says Add New. Click on it.
-
In the "Domain" field, type your domain name (example:
yoursite.com) without "http" or "www". -
Leave the bandwidth and disk space options set to "Same as Main Account" to keep things simple.
-
Click Create and you're done. Your hosting now has a folder ready for the files of that domain.
If you use cPanel
If your plan uses cPanel, the process is equally straightforward:
-
Log into your cPanel with your credentials.
-
Scroll to the "Domains" section and select the Domains option (or "Addon Domains" in older versions).
-
Click the blue Create A New Domain button.
-
Type your domain in the first text box.
-
Important: Make sure the "Share document root" checkbox is not checked if you want this site to be independent from your main domain.
-
Click Submit.
Bacan Pro Tip: Once you add the domain to the panel, remember that its Nameservers (DNS) must point to our servers. If you just changed them, the domain may take between 2 and 24 hours to propagate worldwide. A little patience and you'll see the results!
Before you close this window, check these things:
-
Spelling matters: Make sure there are no typos when entering the domain in the panel.
-
Public folder: After adding the domain, a new folder will be created in your file manager — that's where you need to upload your website files.
-
SSL certificate: Once the domain is added, remember to activate the free SSL from the "SSL Certificates" section so your site is secure (HTTPS).
