We're sorry you're having problems sending email. This error is not a generic error and can have different meanings depending on the provider where your hosting is located. If you're a Bacan client, this error occurs when our automated systems have blocked your email due to inappropriate use.
Causes of the Sender (email) has an outgoing mail hold error
Our systems are blocked when they detect signs of spam leaving our servers. This can happen for different reasons, which we detail below.
- You're sending spam: Serious mistake. Some clients think that sending bulk email to people who haven't requested it is a good way to promote their business. This is a serious mistake. You will never succeed in promoting your business by sending bulk email to people who have never asked you to write to them. Please abandon this promotion technique immediately. If this is the reason we've suspended your email, write to our support system stating that you understand the situation, that you made a mistake and that it will never happen again. Anyone can make a mistake, so our technicians will be happy to restore your services.
- Your password was stolen and someone else is sending spam on your behalf: This situation is unfortunate but very common. It's essential to review all your computers or devices where you use the compromised account. Look for trojans or viruses on the devices. If you find this type of software, remove it urgently. Once removed, log in to your control panel and change the password of the compromised account. Then open a ticket with our support team, explain the situation and the actions you've taken to correct it, and our technicians will restore your service.
- You did the bulk sending yourself but it's not spam: In this case it's evident that you're not following the bulk email rules, which are mandatory for all our clients to avoid server congestion and overload. Below I'll tell you where you can find out about the rules governing bulk email sending: (/en/support/email/features/bulk-email-distribution-list/). Once you understand the reasonable limits you need to keep in mind, you can write to our technicians to reactivate your email account.
Email account suspended from the control panel (cPanel / DirectAdmin)
The account may also have been suspended from the control panel. In this case:
First. The first thing to do is clean the user's device. Most likely the user has viruses or trojans on the computers where they use the account. Make sure they are completely clean to prevent your password from being stolen again.
Second. Log in to your control panel and remove the account suspension by clicking on the "manage suspension" link.
Third. Change the password to a completely new and complex one.
Fourth. Start using the account with the new connection password. Everything should return to working correctly.
