I can receive email, but I can't send

If you can't send emails from your account, here are some tips to help you.

This situation can be due to many different causes. So it's impossible to give a 100% precise answer. Still, review these situations:

  • Are you using the correct outgoing server?
    • Make sure you follow the instructions for incoming and outgoing servers
  • Are you using "My outgoing server requires authentication"?
    • You must use the same email username and password for the outgoing server
  • Are you using the correct password?
  • Is the username correct?
    • Remember that your username to read your email is always your email address
  • Are you using the correct port?
    • Available ports for sending mail:

      • 26 — No encryption - STARTTLS
      • 465 — SSL/TLS
      • 587 — No encryption - STARTTLS - SSL/TLS
      • 25 — Best to avoid port 25 as many internet providers have it closed.
