Years ago, article directories were a common SEO tactic. People wrote articles related to their websites and included links back to their pages in order to gain visibility in Google.
Today, that strategy has far less value and can even become harmful if it turns into low-quality link building.
Why it lost strength
- Search engines became much better at identifying manipulative links.
- Low-quality directories rarely send qualified traffic.
- Generic articles published everywhere do not build real authority.
What works better now
- publishing useful content on your own website
- earning links from relevant, trustworthy sources
- creating pages that genuinely answer user questions
Article directories are not the best long-term strategy for serious promotion. Quality, relevance, and trust matter much more.
