Your domain, our engine 🚀

If you already have a name registered (with GoDaddy, Namecheap, or any other provider), you can keep it there and simply "point" it to Bacan.com. This gives you the freedom to manage your hosting with us while keeping your domain wherever you prefer.

It's a process of just 3 steps that we explain below:

Steps to host your domain at Bacan

  1. Choose your Hosting Plan 📦

The first step is to make sure you have an active plan with us. At the time of purchase, select the option: "I will use my own domain and will modify the nameservers".

  2. Update the DNS (Nameservers) 🛠️

Log in to the control panel where you purchased your domain and find the section called "DNS" or "Nameservers". You must delete the current default ones and replace them with ours:

    • ns1.bacan.com
    • ns2.bacan.com

This is the "bridge" that tells the world that, when someone types your address, they should look for the content on our servers.

  3. Wait for Propagation

Once you save the changes, the internet needs time to "learn" about the new route. This process usually takes between 2 and 24 hours. During this time, it's normal for your website to be intermittent.

💡 Useful tips for a smooth transition

  • Don't cancel your previous service immediately: If you had emails or files at another hosting, make sure you have a backup before the DNS change becomes definitive.

  • Verify the SSL Certificate: Once the DNS points to Bacan, our system will automatically generate your SSL certificate (the green padlock) so your site is secure from the first minute.

  • Tracking tool: You can use sites like DNSChecker.org to see in real time how your domain is being updated in different parts of the world.

Key points:

  • No transfers needed: You don't need to pay to move the domain, you just change the DNS.

  • Full control: You remain the owner of your domain at your current registrar.

  • Bacan's DNS: Always use ns1.bacan.com and ns2.bacan.com.

  • Patience: Propagation is an automatic process that depends on internet providers.
