What is the difference between free hosting and a paid plan?

Bacan's free plan is ideal for getting started, but it has limits. We explain what it includes and when it makes sense to upgrade to a paid plan.

Bacan offers a real free hosting plan — no credit card required, no time limit — so you can start publishing your website without any financial commitment. But it has technical limits. This guide helps you decide which option best suits your project.

What is included in Bacan's free hosting plan

  • Limited disk space on shared server
  • Control panel (DirectAdmin)
  • Support for PHP, MySQL and applications like WordPress
  • Free SSL with Let's Encrypt
  • Email with your domain
  • FTP access

It is a plan designed for small projects, personal websites, portfolios, presentation pages, or for anyone who wants to try the service before committing to a paid plan.

When does it make sense to upgrade to a paid plan

  • Your website receives more than a few hundred visits per day and you start to notice slowness or bandwidth restrictions.
  • You need more disk space for images, videos, or other heavy files.
  • You have an online store or any business website where speed and availability directly affect your revenue.
  • You need more email accounts or larger mailboxes.
  • You want priority support with faster response times.

Can I move from the free plan to a paid one without losing data?

Yes. If you start with Bacan's free plan and later decide to upgrade, the migration process to a higher plan is carried out without loss of files, databases, or configuration. Contact support for help with the process.

Does the free hosting include a domain?

Bacan's free plan does not include a paid domain. You can use a provisional subdomain or connect a domain you already have. Bacan's paid plans include a free .com domain in the first year.
