It's very common for users to already have a domain purchased at another registrar but want to enjoy the speed and support of Bacan.com. If this is your case, we have great news!

Yes, you can perfectly use any domain you already own with our hosting plans. You're not required to transfer it, although you can also do so if you prefer to have everything unified. Here we explain how it works.

How to connect your external domain with Bacan 🛠️

You have two main paths to get your website running on our servers:

Option A: Point via DNS (The fastest)

This is the ideal option if you want your domain to remain registered where it is now.

  1. Sign up for your plan: When purchasing at Bacan, choose the option "I will use my own domain and will modify the nameservers".

  2. Find your DNS: In your hosting welcome email, we'll send you our DNS (example: ns1.bacan.com and ns2.bacan.com).

  3. Update at your registrar: Log in to the panel of the company where you purchased the domain and replace their DNS with ours.

  4. Wait for propagation: In a few hours, your domain will point to our servers.

Option B: Transfer the domain to Bacan

If you prefer to have hosting and domain on a single invoice and under our support:

  1. Request the Auth-Code: Ask your current registrar for the transfer code (EPP or Auth-Code).

  2. Start the process: From our website, select "Transfer domain."

  3. Confirm the email: You will receive an email to authorize the move. We'll take care of the rest!

  • Email accounts: If you change the DNS, remember that your emails will also be managed from our panel (DirectAdmin or cPanel). Make sure to create the accounts on our server first.

  • SSL Certificate: Once the domain points to Bacan, our system will automatically install the free SSL certificate so your website is secure (HTTPS).

  • Backups: Before making the change, it's always advisable to have a backup of your current website as a precaution.
